UCLA Football Tickets Scam In Group Chats

UCLA Information Security Office is aware of UCLA students being targeted by scammers selling fake UCLA USC football game tickets in group chats.

On social media platforms, including GroupMe, Snapchat, and Discord, UCLA students are warning each other after several students sent money for upcoming football game tickets they never received.

Scammers use real student IDs in the exchange chat and may ask students to give the money to the scammer’s friend or significant other via Zelle / Venmo / Cash App.

Any student who is scammed is encouraged to immediately report it to UCPD (https://police.ucla.edu/other/reporting-incidents-crimes) and their financial institution.

if you have received similar messages, do not respond and delete the message.
