Passwords are a critical barrier that protect our accounts by verifying our identity and granting us access. A cybercriminal will use phishing to deceive us into revealing our passwords through manipulative language and fraudulent emails. To effectively mitigate the risks associated with phishing, it is important to report any suspicious cyber activity. Reporting helps effectively identify and respond to these threats.

In Week 4 of Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CAM), empower yourself to be a cyber hero by taking proactive steps to better protect yourself, your friends and family, and the Bruin Community in an increasingly digital world. During this week, the CAM content covers how you can:

  1. Create and store strong passwords to protect your online accounts.
  2. Identify a phishing attack to avoid becoming a victim.
  3. Report suspicious cyber activity to mitigate any negative consequences.

Below are more resources and tips.
