The popular online website where students go to rate their professors has been compromised. All registered users of RateMyProfessors.com have been notified via email of this security breach. Hackers could have possibly acquired the email addresses and passwords of some registered users.
Who Was Affected?
Users who registered to the site before December 28, 2015, should have received an email notification from RateMyProfessors regarding the breach. Those who registered after this date were not affected and no further action is needed.
Next Steps
Users who were affected should immediately reset their RateMyProfessors.com password. If that same password was used for any other web service, that password should be reset as well. For more information, please see the Security Note for Registered Users of RateMyProfessors.com
