Earlier this week, Apple released updates for multiple products including iOS, Safari, tvOS, watchOS, and macOS. These updates fix vulnerabilities in Apple software that allow for denial-of-service, remote code execution, memory disclosure, and more.
Detailed information about these updates is available on Apple’s security updates page.
The UCLA IT Security Office is using this as an opportunity to remind users of the importance of using strong, complex passwords for iCloud accounts, and implementing two-factor authentication for your AppleID. As always, make sure that passwords used for iCloud or other Apple services are unique and not re-used elsewhere.
A detailed walkthrough of setting up two-factor authentication with your Apple ID is also available on Apple’s website.
